Fish in Japanese home cooking

Fish is part of everyday cooking in Japan, at breakfast and on the weekend.

On a weekday morning it might be grilled salmon with cold tofu, served on a tray with rice and small sides. On the weekend it becomes sashimi or seared bonito over salad, eaten with a glass of wine or a cold beer.
