About

Hataraku gohan (働くごはん) means the meals of a working life. One woman in Japan works a full-time job, five days a week. Every morning before the commute she cooks a large breakfast, and it is the main meal of her day. Evenings are light. On weekends she bakes and cooks ahead for the week. She has done this for more than ten years.

This site is a record of those meals, with recipes for the dishes you can make anywhere, and notes on the places she eats when she does not cook.
